Introduction to Mindsets & Motivation. In this module, you'll view a 10-minute video introducing the course, hear students talk about some of their challenges in the classroom, and how they stay motivated to take on challenges, put in effort, and stick to it when the work becomes difficult. Then you'll complete a short diagnostic "mindset scan" to assess the motivational profile of your former or current students, and discuss with classmates in the forum.
Welcome! The Mindsets and Motivation course prepares teachers to support their students in developing positive motivation in the classroom through learning about key research findings in psychology and neuroscience and their applications to classroom practice.
In each module, you'll complete a short diagnostic assessment, view a 10-20 minute video, and discuss the content with your colleagues in your learning group forum. Then you'll select an activity or project to implement using tools provided, try it out in your classroom, and share your results with your colleagues in the forum.
